19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to win a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.
However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
