Area Police
Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then found multiple other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important political figure commented the attack rendered him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
